Born in the aristocratic family of Koikal Meda at Chettikulangara, Madhav had his schooling at Mavelikara. An Engineering graduate in Computer Science & Technology and specialised in Business Management and with over 3 decades of Industry experience, he worked with HCL Ltd. Mumbai &a then with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Mumbai for 8 years. Madhav was the Product Manager for TCS’ highly acclaimed software package E.X. and went on to become the Marketing Manager at TCS for software products before resigning in 1998 to become an entrepreneur to start Cyberland group of companies in Cochin. This IT startup was initiated when the startup word itself was not in vogue!
Cyberland launched the first ever Internet Cafe of Kerala, and only the second of its kind in the country, when it started functioning way back in 1998 before shifting its focus to turn-key Networking projects. Today Cyberland & Linknet are leading IT hardware service providers for corporate houses and institutions. He is also an angel investor in many startup companies and is the Chairman of Tertiary Care Pvt Ltd., an IT startup providing telemedicine platforms.
Founded in 1957, Kerala Management Association (KMA) is an elite organisation of Kerala, spearheading the management movement. He was President of KMA during the years 2020-22 and lead the organization to win the All India Management Asssociation –AIMA’s Best Management Association Award for 2 consecutive years. Took the lead andreconstructed the ‘KMA House’ building during the term in Cochin.
Leading NGO in the domain of Cancer Care, Cancure Foundation has over 260 Life Members and over 30 Corporate Members. He is one of the Founders and the current Honorary Secretary of the Foundation – one of the most respected NGOs in cancer, renal and palliative care domains.
When he was selected to become the District Governor for the year 2019-20 for the Rotary District 3201, that became the first time in the history of the District that a Governor was elected without an opponent candidate in the fray. As the Governor of District 3201 comprising of revenue districts of Kerala & Tamil Nadu, he bagged the No.1 position in Zone 5 & No. 20 in the world for TRF contributions, by collecting $1.28 million during his term. He also initiated a record 47 Global Grant projects during the year, with a cumulative worth of over Rs. 30 Crores. During his term he is credited to have conceived the first ever human milk bank in Kerala as a Rotary project at Ernakulam & Trichur and a chain of dialysis centres in Kerala and Tamil Nadu. Among the many prestigious positions he held include Secretary of Zonal Institute 2022 – Mahabs, Chairman of multi-District RI Presidential Visit Kochi, Co Chair of Zonal Institute 2024 etc. He is currently the Endowments & Major Gifts Advisors (E/MGA) of The Rotary Foundation for years 2022-25 & was Chair of Rotary International Committee for 2024 Singapore Convention Promotion, for Rotary Zone 5, India. Most coveted of his assignments are being selected as the RI Learning Facilitator (Training Leader) for 2 consecutive years at the International Assembly 2023 & 2024 being held at Florida, USA to train incoming District Governors from all over the world, & also as the Lead Facilitator for 2024 & 2025 at the ‘Global Philanthropy Seminar’ being held at Evanston, Chicago where Regional Leaders are trained. And to top it all, Madhav has now got the most prestigious appointment by the RI Board of Directors & TRF Trustees to be a Member of the Joint Committee of Learning for RI & TRF for the years 2024-27. A benefactor, Paul Harris Society Member and Major Donor of the Rotary Foundation, he is the recipient of ‘Service above Self’ Award – the highest honour bestowed on a Rotarian by the RI Board of Directors in 2023.

Wife – PP Rtn. Sujata Madhav Chandran hailing from Kolkata and a gold medalist in Economics & Management, is also a senior IT professional with over 32 years of corporate experience and has worked with IT Majors like Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Oracle India Ltd. Currently she is Global Head – Competency Development, Data Services of the Analytics & Insights Unit of TCS and is based at its Cochin office. She is also the Learning Facilitator (Training Leader) for Partners at the Rotary International Assembly 2023 & 2024
Sons - Rishi (26 years) & Mihir (23 years) both students of College of Engineering, Trivandrum – Rishi completed his MBA at Symbiosis, Pune & working at Accenture Strategy & Consulting, Bangalore and Mihir working at Deloitte, Bangalore.
